The first comprehensive monograph on Nader Ahriman's work presents pieces from 1994 to 2003.

For many years, the Berlin-based artist's work has focused on complex, almost excessive content. Ahriman's Iranian origins and his resulting strong interest in critically reflecting on ideological systems have also shaped his relationship to painting. He has developed a dense and idiosyncratic formal and aesthetic language that contains a multitude of philosophical, literary and art-historical allusions. Ahriman breaks with the highly conceptual model-like nature of his paintings that is apparent at first glance; in his works, solutions in terms of content always also mean painterly solutions. This first comprehensive monograph shows works from 1994 to 2003 and illustrates above all the metaphorical and at the same time painterly complexity of Nader Ahriman's artistic language. His works are accompanied by essays by Christian Haye, Paola Morsiani and Dorothea Strauss.
